UVU Study Abroad Applications

Utah Conference for Undergraduate Research (UCUR)

This year UCUR is being hosted by Southern Utah University in Cedar
City on February 26, 2010. The submission form for abstracts is at
www.suu.edu/ugrasp/ucur. Only the lead student needs to fill out the
submission form. Registration comes later, after abstracts are
selected.

Communication 10-Step

Step 1: Complete the application online at www.uvu.edu/leadership, and the LPI Online Survey.

Step 2: Participate in a self and peer-assessment process (360°). ($75 fee required).

Step 3: Keep a journal of your personal leadership journey, development, learning and reflection.

Step 4: Meet with your mentor twice per semester, and attend monthly “Mastermind” sessions (record in journal).

Deaf Studies 10-Step

Step 1: Complete the application online at www.uvu.edu/leadership, and the LPI Online Survey.

Step 2: Participate in a self and peer-assessment process (360°). ($75 fee required).

Step 3: Keep a journal of your personal leadership journey, development, learning and reflection.

Special Project: Kaiizen Humanitarian Organization

Here is an amazing leadership opportunity for those in the CAL program and Presidential Leadership Program students:

Kaiizen is a student/young people run humanitarian organization dedicated to change the life of underprivileged children in various parts around the world.  The motor and wheels of this organization are the service-minded people that come to the meetings and decide to take charge and make a difference. The biggest project that Kaiizen has is the Project Baja which we do around 5 trips to Mexico every year.  Kaiizen volunteers are people who take charge, and also are flexible, committed, and willing to have a great time!  CAL and PLP students can fill plenty of leadership hours, get out of the country, and the trips are low cost so that students can go.  Good thing to mention is that this trip will be during our fall break, Wednesday Oct 14 at 6PM through Sunday Oct 18!  .
